Drink a cup of tea at Huashan - China

If I accepted a cup of tea at Huashan, it would be my most expensive cup of tea, not in terms of money, but because the Huashan (Chinese trad.?, Simplified.?, Pinyin Huashan) - one of the five sacred mountains of Taoism in China, located in Shaanxi Province, near the district town Huain (station on the railway Xian - Luoyang). Gore is famous for exquisite picturesque rocks and dangerous rise complex on top.

Mountain trail connects many of the highest peaks to 2100 m, is a unique mountain route. On the way there are many Taoist monasteries, pagodas, temples, gates and bridges. It is built on top of the mountain teahouses in which tourists can drink flavored beverage contemplating perhaps the most beautiful landscapes on the planet.

Forbidden City - China I

Forbidden City is a complex of buildings in China.
It is located in the capital Beijing . It is located in the city center, close to Tiananmen Square . This complex was built during the Ming Dynasty, which ruled China from 1368 - 1644 and was the last Chinese national dynasty. Currently the name of Forbidden City is also the Palace Museum.

The city is surrounded by walls and a moat. The whole area of the city measures 960 meters in length and 760 meters in width. All buildings in this complex are located in the north-south axis.

The gate to the city from the north is through the Noon gate, which follows the High gate. Behind the gate about the middle of the complex there is a group of ceremonial buildings - the Hall of Supreme Harmony, which was built in 1627 and where the coronation ceremonies, birthday parties and New Year celebrations of the emperor took place.

Then there is the Perfect Harmony Hall, where the emperor prepared for ceremonies, and the Hall of Guarding harmony. Next to the ceremonial places there is the private imperial part. It is separated by the gate of Heaven Purity and it composes of three buildings - the Palace of Heavenly Purity, the residential palace of Earthly Tranquility and between them is situated the Hall of the Great Connection.

Forbidden City had been inaccessible till 1911. It was only after the fall of the dynasty that it opened to ordinary people. Forbidden City has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.

Wudang - China

Wudang is a mountain in China. It is situated in the central part of the country in Hubei province, Yingshan County, near the city of Shiyan. It stretches in the length of 400 km. It consists of 72 peaks, 36 cliffs and 24 valleys. A large number of beautiful Taoist temples, shrines, palaces, monasteries and pavilions helps to create the overall atmosphere of the mountain range. The range is considered to be sacred for Taoists. According to a legend, a significant ruler emperor Zhenwu, who is described as a forefather of Taoism, was born there. Local monasteries contain unique historical artifacts such as musical instruments, sacrificial vessels, graphically decorated stone slabs, Taoist sacred texts and more.

Yunnan protected area - China

Yunnan protected area is a unique area in China. It is located in the south, in the province of Yunnan. The whole region covers an area of 939 441 ha. It lies on the upper streams of three major Asian rivers, Yangtze, Mekong and Salween. Part of the protected area extends into the Hengduan mountains. Yunnan protected area is important for its geological history and biodiversity. All three rivers flow parallelly from north to south through gorges and between high icy mountains over 6 000 meters high. The gorges are in some places up to 3 000 meters deep.

Nature reserve Huanglong is important for the diversity of ecosystems in its territory. There are forests, karst forms and even hot springs.It is natural habitat of many endangered animal and plant species. Giant pandas belong to the rarest. The most famous part of Huanglong is an area with natural calcium pools.
